This blog is a visual articulation of MY views of the world around me. I will present various sides of arguments, and always sum them up with my own personal take.

My more entertaining/diverse/ridiculous/lovable blog can be found at http://mrjdjude.tumblr.com/ and I'll do all of my following from that blog as well!

Thanks and enjoy!

Updates (4/25) and responses from last week’s posts

This week should be kool. I’m attending DC’s version of the Tony’s tonight. Our Managing Director paid for the tickets so I’m gonna go. Missed them last year so I’m excited to finally check them out. Producing mode will be in OVERTIME at work this week. There is a lot to get done on all my projects this week. We’ll have the Colored People’s Theatre casting session for “for colored girls…” on Friday. Any interested actors should email us! I’ll do the photobooth thing all day Saturday. Next week will be kool, but I’ll handle that when I get there.

I’m writing an article for XhibitP. I want to talk about the current state of the Black arts and safe spaces for young, Black artists to create their work. I’ll need some help staying focused and providing enough examples to prove a point so help is greatly appreciated.

Here is my response to K.O.S. Determination’s reblog of my Hip-hop post.

  1. You’re right about the cooning comment. I think my argument, although convoluted, isn’t about cooning but about the line between borrowing someone’s culture/style and applying is as if it were your own, only for a moment, especially if you are only using it to do/say something you normally wouldn’t do/say.
  2. Black culture isn’t Hip-hop and vice versa.
  3. There is nothing new under the sun. Agreed.
  4. The series you linked me to is hella kool!

They also responded to the “Video Girl” movie post and I responded to it here.
